The Power of The Truka Mindset

Lessons from the Historical Giants

Imagine having a coffee with Marcus Aurelius, Nelson Mandela, and Gandhi.

What would you take away?

These historical giants known for their wisdom, resilience, and commitment to servitude create the Truka Mindset --

A philosophy that transformed my life and business.

Let me share how.

The Wisdom of Marcus Aurelius

I once had a mentor who studied stoicism: the teachings of virtue, emotional resiliency, and and rationality.

We worked together at the Post Office where I clocked 10 hour days for 6 days straight.

Whenever I would get angry at something or make a mistake, he'd ask me simple questions like:

"What is within your control right now?"

"What can you learn from this?"

Or my (least) favorite, "will this matter in 5 years?"

Although I shrugged the questions off in the moment, they helped me learn one of the greatest lessons of my life and business.

You cannot control external circumstances, but you can control how you react to the situation.

This philosophy stuck with me everywhere I went.

The Leadership of Nelson Mandela

This man dedicated his life to fight racial segregation and to achieve human rights for all South Africans.

Whenever I face obstacles in my business, I remember Mandela's story.

He endured 27 years in prison, yet emerged with a mindset focused on building a better future.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed by challenges, I ask myself:

"What purpose drives my actions?"

"How can I serve someone today?"

These questions have kept me focussed on integrity and a heart of servitude, which not only brought success into my life but also a deep sense of fulfillment.

The Compassion of Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi’s holistic approach to life, combining physical health, spiritual growth, and social responsibility, inspired me to adopt a balanced way of living.

In my journey, I integrated practices like daily meditation, regular exercise, daily connection in my routine.

This holistic approach helped me maintain a sense of balance and well-being, even during stressful times.

Whenever I feel out of sync, I reflect on Gandhi’s teachings and ask myself:

"How can I bring more balance into my life?"

"What small actions can I take today to make a positive impact?"

These reflections grounded me and kept me focused on my overall well-being.

My Personal Take with The Truka Mindset

I grew up in a very hostile home that created a massive wave of tension in my life.

At 13, I knew that one day I may not have a home, a family, or a future to look forward to.

This propelled me into entrepreneurship at a really young age, forcing me to grow up faster.

I needed mentors.

I needed guidance.

My only way of finding them at the time was through books and podcasts.

I learned from men like Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, and the three I listed above.

They all taught different, but interconnected mindsets.

The growth mindset, the stoic mindset, the mamba mentality, a mindset of servitude.

I took them all in and applied them all.

After high school, I skipped college and I went straight to investing into real estate and made hundreds of mistakes.

Because of my mindset, I was able to turn those mistakes into lessons.

I found a mentor soon after and we bought over 20 single family homes together in our first year, which led to a build-out of a multi million dollar education company, helping hundreds of people do what we did.

Everything changed for me when I adopted this way of life. I went from being lost, overwhelmed, and stressed, to feeling fulfilled everyday in my journey.

It became a moment of clarity during a challenging period.

I took the mentalities from the greats, mixed them with my personal experiences, and combined them into one: The Truka Mindset.

A culmination of the Growth, Stoic, Servitude, and Holistic mindset.

The Truka Mindset isn't just a philosophy; it's a transformative way of living that integrates the best aspects of these powerful mindsets.

By focusing on personal growth, emotional resilience, service to others, and holistic well-being, the Truka Mindset empowers individuals to overcome obstacles, achieve their goals, and lead fulfilling lives.
